A beginner‑friendly guide to weaving beautiful seed bead bracelets.
A beading loom allows you to weave seed beads (or other small beads) into flat, patterned bracelets. They look complicated, but once you understand the setup, they’re incredibly easy and satisfying to use.
This loom is closest to the one used in the original tutorial:
Cut 3 meters (9.8 feet) of 0.2 mm cotton or nylon thread. This will become your warp threads — the vertical threads stretched across the loom.
Tie a strong knot around the screw or anchor post on one side of your loom. This knot holds all your warp threads in place.
Pass the thread through the comb‑like teeth of the loom.
Once you have the number of warp threads you want, tie another strong knot around the same screw or anchor post.
Use the roller or bolt on your loom to tighten the threads. You want them to feel like guitar strings — firm, not floppy.
Turn the combs or tension bars so both sides line up evenly. This keeps your weaving straight.
Tie your working thread (the one with the needle) to the first warp thread on the left.
Thread your needle and pick up the beads for your first row.
Slide the beads under the warp threads so each bead sits neatly between two threads.
Now pass your needle back through the same beads — but this time go OVER the warp threads.
This locks the beads into place.
Pick up beads → place under the warp threads → stitch back over the top.
Your bracelet will grow row by row.
Once you reach the length you want, tie off your threads and attach a clasp. You’ve just made a beautiful loom‑woven bracelet!
